The two day educational exhibition organised by Muthoot Group, in association with The Times of India, turned out to be a huge success among the students looking for new educational avenues.
The first edition of the educational exhibition organised by Saffron Route, a sister concern of Muthoot Group, based on the theme ‘Take off to new Heights’ was held at Hotel Abad Plaza, Kochi on 4th and 5th of May.
The expo, inaugurated by Kochi Mayor, Tony Chemmany, had about 35 institutions and colleges participating, mainly from Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore and across Kerala. Apart from engineering and medical courses, there were also colleges offering niche courses like aviation, travel and tourism, CS, CA and so on.
Some of the prominent educational institutions which participated in the two day expo include, KVM College of Engineering & Information Technology, Cherthala; Amity university; Rajagiri school of business; JSS College of Nursing, Bangalore; Marian International Institute of Management, Kuttikanam; Hotel Management and Toursim, Mahajana Tourism Development Institute, Mysore and foreign universities like Jon Kopping University, Sweeden and Burlington English.
Albert M George, Business Development Manager, Saffron Route, added that it was a new venture by Muthoot group and the response has been very good. “We have plans to hold a series of education expos and exhibitions in other cities in India and abroad in future. An education exhibition in UAE and East Africa by end of the year is also in the pipeline,” says George.
According to Dr George V Antony, Director, Department of Management Studies, KVM College of Engineering & Information Technology, Cherthala, the limited number of stalls at the expo proved to be a great advantage for students as well as participating institutions. “I’m happy that we got a few genuine enquiries from the right candidates. Unlike other expos, the 30 days after expo support being provided by Saffron Route is also a unique factor,” he added.
“It is the first time, we are participating in an educational expo in Kerala and the turnout has been good. We are looking forward to more expos like this in future too,” says George Jaison, Professor, Hotel Management and Toursim, Mahajana Tourism Development Institute, Mysore. “Muthoot group as part of this educational expo, has initiated an EMI facility for students to buy personal gadgets for their college needs,” added Bindu Bijumon, CEO, Saffron Route.
